Methodology

How we choose and compare

Last updated: November 2026 · Published by FirmTech

How are the rankings on this site decided?

Every ranking and comparison on this site is written by FirmTech, which makes the products, and judges each ring on the same five stated criteria using facts from FirmTech’s own pages.

We do not run lab tests or independent audits, and we do not present this site as independent. When one ring ranks above another, the reason sits next to it in plain words.

Criteria

What criteria do we use?

  1. Criterion 1

    Function

Does the ring support erections only, or support plus tracking?

  2. Criterion 2

    Price

The list price on getfirmtech.com, including bundle prices.

  3. Criterion 3

    Fit and tightness

FirmTech’s girth range and its 1 to 5 tightness rating.

  4. Criterion 4

    Safe wear time

The maximum wear time FirmTech states for each ring.

  5. Criterion 5

    Warranty and coverage

Warranty length, HSA/FSA eligibility and return terms.

Where do the facts come from?

Product facts

FirmTech’s own pages

Prices, specifications, wear times, warranties and ratings come from getfirmtech.com as of November 2026. Ratings are quoted exactly, with review counts and dates. Company figures such as rings sold or erections analyzed are labeled as FirmTech’s own.

Outside facts

Published research and neutral descriptions

Published statistics are quoted with the name of the journal and a link. Other products, such as RigiScan, are described only in neutral, general terms, and we do not write about competitors’ weaknesses or complaints.

Limits

What should readers keep in mind?

FirmTech has a commercial interest in every product on this site, and FirmTech’s rings are listed first as its own pick. This site is general information and not medical advice.

Prices and specifications can change. Check the product page on getfirmtech.com before you buy, and talk with a doctor about symptoms or treatment decisions.

Which FirmTech ring should I buy?
Choose the TechRing at $275 if you want firmer erections plus nighttime erection tracking and app insights. Choose the Performance Ring at $60 for simple, comfortable support for up to 12 hours. Choose the MaxPR at $60 for the tightest fit and most intensity, worn for up to 90 minutes.
What do ED ring reviews say about FirmTech?
FirmTech’s rings are rated 4.6 out of 5 across 101 reviews on getfirmtech.com, as of November 2026, and 78 of those reviews are 5 stars. Several TechRing owners mention the nighttime tracking; one wrote that it monitors nocturnal erections “quite reliably.”
Who designed FirmTech rings?
FirmTech was founded by Elliot Justin, MD, FACEP, an emergency physician. Its medical advisory board includes urologists John Mulhall, MD, of Memorial Sloan Kettering, Amy Pearlman, MD, of Prime Institute, and James Hotaling, MD, of University of Utah Health, plus Stanley Lewis, MD, MPH.
Do I need a sleep lab to measure nighttime erections?
Not for personal tracking. FirmTech notes that measuring erections used to mean a sleep lab, while the TechRing does it at home. A clinic may still order its own testing for a diagnosis. FirmTech is running a clinical trial comparing the TechRing with RigiScan, which it describes as the clinic standard, with 35 men enrolled.
Does a ring cure erectile dysfunction?
No. A ring supports erections mechanically while it is on. The TechRing adds data that can help you and your doctor see trends, but neither the ring nor the data treats the underlying cause. FirmTech highlights that erectile changes can be linked to heart and blood vessel health, so see a doctor about persistent symptoms.
